“4 continuing awesomeness VI” 2025
acrylic and flexible modeling paste on canvas
7 × 5 inches
My dad, Joe, was born in the 1930s in Oklahoma. He was my rock and my biggest supporter. We lost him in 2017. This series honors his memory and his birthday, November 15. The color palette was inspired by his Oklahoma roots. When I was a teenager orange was my favorite color and I regularly “borrowed” his orange clothes. The final touch of a handprint holding each painting honors the way he always held me up and supported me. The title references a note from him that I still have to this day. I hope this series would make him proud.
